About Almost Anybody
People have been telling me I should build this website for years now. I'm a constant learner who likes to stay updated on real-world events. I tend not to automatically believe one side of a story or the other, and I've genuinely found that on a lot of complicated subjects, the truth is often somewhere in the middle.
I think much of America works that way.
Some subjects are simple, but a lot aren't.
Politics, religion, current events, local issues, culture, and everyday life can become pretty complicated once you get past the headlines and start looking at the facts, history, different opinions, and experiences of the people involved.
I enjoy digging deeper into the topics people are talking about, looking beyond the obvious headlines and opinions, and trying to find the information that puts the whole story in perspective. I'm not here to tell you what to think, and I'm not here to get you to agree with me. But I do hope you'll comment on my videos and share your perspective, because I'd like to learn from your experiences too.
If I get something right, let me know.
If I get something wrong, let me know that as well.
Like I said, I enjoy learning, and I'm always willing to reconsider something when there's better information or another side of the story I haven't considered. You may watch one of my videos and come to the same conclusion I did, or you may come to a completely different one. Either way, you get to make up your own mind.
What I Do When I'm Not Doing AlmostAnybody.com
When I'm not working on AlmostAnybody.com, I spend most of my time helping people with life insurance. I'm Randy VanderVaate, better known as the Final Expense Guy at FEXGUY.com, and I'm an independent life insurance agent licensed in all 50 states.
I look at all life insurance as final expense insurance because, in one way or another, that's exactly what it's designed to handle: the financial consequences that are left behind when someone dies.
For one person, that might mean enough insurance to pay for a burial or cremation and make sure the family isn't left with the bill. For another, it might mean replacing years of income so a surviving spouse and children can continue paying the mortgage and living their lives. For a business owner, it could mean millions of dollars of coverage to provide the capital a company needs to survive and continue operating after the death of an owner or key person. The amounts and purposes can be very different, but they're all addressing expenses and financial obligations that remain after someone's life ends.
I help people with different types of life insurance, including term life and whole life, along with other insurance and financial products such as annuities and disability insurance.
Being independent also means I don't have to believe that every product the insurance industry comes up with is a good fit for everybody.
For example, I rarely recommend indexed universal life insurance, or IULs, because I believe there are usually better and easier-to-understand options for the people I work with. The right answer depends on the person, what they're trying to accomplish, and what they're willing to spend.
That's really how I approach insurance in general.
I try to understand what someone is trying to accomplish first, explain the available options in plain English, compare what makes sense, and point out the advantages and disadvantages before they make a decision.
And I suppose that's not too different from what I'm doing with AlmostAnybody.com. I like digging into things, questioning what I'm being told, looking at different sides, and trying to understand the whole story before reaching a conclusion.
If you'd like to learn more about what I do for a living, you can find me at FEXGUY.com.
